There is a poet I have been reading since I was 15 years old, her name is Alejandra Pizarnik and well is not a light read or everyone’s cup of tea, yet I find such beauty behind her words.
Not long ago I found her whole diaries and the bird reference is ever present, which is what gave birth to my bird pieces:
We must save the wind
The birds that burn the wind
in the hair of the lonely woman
returning to nature
and weaving afflictions.
We must save the wind
I've been experimenting with the bird theme for several years now.
The pendant is sterling silver, etched into the metal in a very subtle way a single little bird silhouette, I really like the "worn" old aspect that can be achieved, almost like an old photograph.
The bird sits in a sterling silver that works almost like a frame. This necklace is perfect to wear alone or to layer, and you can pick your favorite bird.
Hanging from a very delicate chain, you can choose which length you prefer before checking out.
Other pendants along these line are available in the storefront https://nataliaraya.etsy.com

------------------------About this shop ------------------------
I am passionate about metalwork and exploring different techniques in a free - form way, focusing on small series of pieces at the time, this is done to keep the unique qualities of handmade work, using recycled sterling silver in a very rough organic way to highlight the qualities of the metal, vitreous enamel and a variety of found materials, fossils and gemstones which most tell a story.
- I keep rotating pieces and add new items monthly, for updates you can favorite this shop or join my newsletter over at my website: www.nataliaraya.com
